CITY SPORTS HALL VARAZDIN, AG PLANUM ZAGRED ARCHITECTS

The sense of horizontality of this project is one of the things that capture my attention. The project has a consistent horizontal organization. the massing, circulation and elevation continue to illustrate the this idea though out the whole project. this is to show that keeping one strong idea fluent through out the whole design allows for a more elegant and organized project.

  1. Varazdin complex:
structure: this seems undefined at this point. perhaps you haven't found structural drawings. nonetheless, there are columns indicated in the plan and one might reasonably assume the trusses are on this spacing. these elements could be indicated, and what appears to be a cantilever on the entrance side is a significant feature.
natural light: I'm not clear whether there are clerestories both sides, but if so, this should be indicated; additionally, I think its helpful to indicate the light penetrates the exterior
    massing:
circulation: pretty straightforward i can see. one might indicate the relative scales of public and private circulation, and if you're using color, perhaps the public/private could be defined with colors or value differences.
hierarchy: similar to the parti comment below; the public/admin and the two public venues should probably be delineated.
parti: the parti could be refined to indicate the two public venues, the administrative zone and the entry stair. the massing analysis illustrates the spaces that the parti should indicate.
